TJS (Taylors Joining System) – Site Assembly

The TJS joining system is an innovation of Taylors Doors and Frames. Similar to a Knock Down frame with the major advantage of eliminating the need to weld the frame together on site. The TJS joining system has a corner bracket arrangement which allows the frame sections to be slotted tight into each other and screw secured (i.e. no welding on site required).

The TJS joining system is suitable for any installation where a Knock Down frame would have been used in the past and is especially beneficial for supply into areas where there is a lack of skilled labour required for the correct welding of frames on site and areas where existing frames need to be replaced.

Another major benefit of the TJS joining system is where frames in an existing installation require replacement (e.g. up grading of unit entry doors from non rated to fire rated).

In using the TJS joining system the frame can be sized to go over the wall thus maximizing the clear opening where as the common retrofit frame is generally reduced in width and height to enable the frame to be fitted to the opening left after removing the existing frame.

Frames are supplied in a kit form which includes the frame stiles and frame head along with appropriately sized spreader bars. The stiles are pre fitted with rubber buffers (non rated frames only), hinges (welded hinge or screw fixed hinge backing plate), strikes, TJS joining angles and screws for the TJS joining angle.

As with a Knock Down frame, the TJS frame substantially reduces the m3 requirement for transport as opposed to factory assembled frames. For transport interstate or internationally TJS frames are the recommended assembly method as this minimizes the chance of damage in transit as the frames can be suitably pallet packed and strapped.

TJS (Taylors Joining System) – Factory Assembly

Frames can be factory assembled if this is required and can be supplied assembled for disassembly and reassembly on site.
