Sale conditions of fire rated doors
  • Doors must be stored or hung in dry buildings.
  • Doors must be stored laying down on pallets (not standing or leaning against walls).
  • A maximum of 2.5mm may be trimmed off the edge strips of the doors (=5mm off height and 5mm off width).
  • The door frame must be built in ‘True Sqaure’ without wind for correct door installation.
  • The fire door supplied to suit this frame (once fitted) must have a maximum of 10mm clearance between the underside of the door and finished floor and a maximum of 3mm between the sides and top of the door and the frame.
  • Variations in colour, grain or texture are natural variations of timber. These variations are not to be considered a defect of the PLY or MDF.
  • The entire door, including the top and bottom rails must be painted after fitting and before hanging. This requires 2 x coats of sealer or oil based primer. We recommend semi gloss paint be used for the top or finishing coat.
  • TDF will not be held responsible if doors become defective because of failure to follow the directions outlined above.
  • All doors are supplied as blanks and do not include hardware, installation or tagging. Blank tags and a Certificate of Compliance can be supplied when a ‘Compliance Details Check List’ has been completed, signed and returned to TDF.
